Q. Can I specify the model of the car I would like to rent?
A. Our vehicle’s make and model are based upon availability. Please advise the counter representative of your preference when you arrive to pick up your rental vehicle. If the vehicle is available, we will be happy to accommodate your preference.
Q. How can I change or cancel my reservation?
A. You can use this web site to change or cancel a reservation. Simply choose the required option through the Quotes & Bookings section of our website.
Q. Is there a charge if I change or cancel my reservation?
A. There is no charge if reservations are cancelled one day prior to your pickup date.
Q. What do I need to bring with me to the counter to rent a car?
A. Clients who wish to rent a vehicle need to present international credit cards (if any), valid Identification cards, a passport, driver’s license. Drivers with an overseas license must provide their country license, international license, and passport.
Q. Can I drive the car outside Metro Manila?
A. Yes, but all vehicles rented out by Budget cannot be used for inter-island trips, or for trips to flooded and lahar areas.
Q. How do I extend my rental and will it change my rate?
A. To extend your rental, you must contact or visit our main office. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any changes made in your rental may change the rate.
Q. What should I do if I have an accident or the vehicle breaks down?
A. First contact the police to complete an accident report and contact us immediately. If the car breaks down, please check the back of your contract for a phone number. If a number is unavailable, please contact us or if you need police assistance, please call 117.
Q. Can I rent a car with an International driver’s license?
A. All expatriates are allowed to drive in the Philippines using their international licenses for three months. Please make sure that your international driver’s license has a photo of yourself and that you also present your passport when you rent a vehicle. However, the majority of the vehicles we rent to clients here in the Philippines come with a chauffer.
Q. Can I bring my pets in a Budget vehicle?
A. Currently, we do not allow clients to bring pets inside our vehicles.
Q. I'm traveling with a child. Do I bring my own child safety seat?
A. We can provide child safety seats for clients as part of the accessories included in every car rental.
Q. How old do you have to be to rent a car?
A. All prospective clients of Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines need to be 21 years old and above and must be able to present and provide a valid driver’s license.
Q. Is there an additional charge if there will be more than one driver?
A. There are usually surcharges for additional drivers, who must meet minimum age requirements. The cost of a daily surcharge varies from location to location, so renters should inquire when making a reservation. For clients renting vehicles with a chauffer who will be going on long trips, Budget usually provides a second driver.
Q. Will Budget check my driving record?
A. To help control liability and insurance costs, several major car rental companies, including Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines, screen for high-risk drivers. Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines will also check the status of the credit card presented by the client. Whenever a prospective renter's driving history or ability to pay fails to meet a company's established criteria, the company can deny rental service.
Q. Do I need to refuel the car when I return it to the main office/garage?
A. Yes. All rented vehicles must be returned to the main office/garage with as much fuel as it had upon rental. If a vehicle is returned to Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines with less fuel than when it was rented, a fuel surcharge to be determined by the company will apply.
Q. Why do I have to return my car at a set time?
A. Many rates, like weekend specials, are only available during certain time periods. Returning the car after or even before the designated time might affect the rate quoted. Returning the car by the agreed-upon time also helps ensure that all other customers will have their reserved car available upon their arrival.
Q. If I pick up a car on Tuesday at noon and return it Wednesday at 4 p.m., will I be charged for one day or two?
A. Most car rental rates are based on a 24-hour clock. So in this case, you'd be charged for four extra hours or one additional day, whichever is less. In addition, the charges for optional waivers, optional insurance and surcharges are applied on a 24-hour basis.
Q. What can I use to pay for my rental fee?
A. Apart from cash payments, Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines accepts payment through credit cards and cash. Prospective clients are also allowed to pay a part of the rental fee in cash and in credit card, if the client chooses it.
Q. What credit card can I use?
A. Currently, Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines only accepts Visa, MasterCard, and JCB credit cards. In the near future, we will also accept American Express and BPI Express Credit Card.
Q. Can I use a debit card?
A. No. Budget Car and Truck Rental-Philippines does not accept debit cards.
